I have been privileged to work with Shaw Hofstra and Associates for four years in my role as Executive Director of the Morningstar's Community Development Corporation.
I have found their expertise to be invaluable in helping to design our 39,000 sq. ft. Youth and Family Community Life Center to be located at 27th & Prospect Avenue in Kansas City, Missouri.
It was important to find a firm that could work with our Board of Directors, develop a facility that could serve the community, handle multiple programs, be energy efficient, and low in maintenance cost. The firm was not apprehensive about becoming involved in our project at an intermediate level when a decision had not been made to hire them. Our Youth and Family Life Center has been designed to serve the community well into the next century, by establishing areas that include: Adult Day Care, Extended Hour Child Care, swimming pool, gym, classrooms, health screening area, a 200 capacity multipurpose room, office, library and public meeting space.
