Chancellors Residence - Missouri University of Science and Technology
completed: 2006

The Chancellors Residence created a unique design problem as the house is used as both a public facility and a private residence.  Therefore areas on the first floor were required to meet ada guidelines but still needed to preserve the historical aspects of the house and maintain the needs of a private residence.  A complete overhaul of the kitchen turned it from a commercial feeling facility with fluorescent lighting to a residential feeling kitchen still capable of handling parties of 40 or more.

The private upstairs area was redesigned to house a washer and dryer for that level, larger closet space, and a breakfast bar.  The attic area of the house was also redesigned to allow for a new bathroom at that level to serve the bedrooms.  Throughout the entire remodel attention was given to maintaining the historic design elements existing in the house and staying in that same style in the remodeled areas.
